- "Someday Melissa" and We NEDAwareness Week 2012 by: One Rebel Mother
"Melissa, an aspiring filmmaker and gifted writer, kept a journal to help express her feelings. Her poem “Someday…” became the inspiration for the documentary, Someday Melissa, the story of an eating disorder, loss and hope that her mother, Judy Avrin, made to create a tool that would help families, health care workers, educators and coaches better understand the devastation of eating disorders and provide a call to action."

- Anosognosia (Blind Starvation) - The first Eating Disorder word to understand by: One Rebel Mother
"Perhaps the most confusing thing about anorexia is that the patient can function so well in other areas of life: school and work, for example. Patients who are floridly ill can remain quite lucid and intellectually engaged on topics outside food/body. This confuses loved ones, as we expect all abilities to thrive or fail in tandem. This even confuses many therapists..."

- "The Starving Brain" This may be the most important article on Anorexia ever written by: One Rebel Mother
:"We are now convinced that eating disorders are biologically based diseases, and so we don't blame parents anymore, says Lynn Grefe, chief executive officer of NEDA. Nor is the blame directly placed on the individual's free will.""no one single gene that causes anorexia,.. The genetics don't cause the disease; they set you up for the risk"
- Why Read "Feeding the Starving Mind"? by: One Rebel Mother
The book contains a quote, which shook our world of therapy, various Treatment Centers, and failed Recoveries. "I began to investigate the basics of anorexia treatment all of which point to the first step----that the patient must eat, period." by Robert Graff, MD."

- "ANOREXIA AND I" by Nicole Schlesinger, from Debra Schlesinger to Karen Barber by: One Rebel Mother
"During my first semester at UC Berkeley, in the fall of 1994, Anorexia slowly began to suck me into her world. At five feet six inches tall, and 139 pounds, I decided to avoid the "freshman 15" by joining Weight Watchers with my mom. It was to be a mother / daughter "bonding" experience. Unknowingly, however, Weight Watchers was to become the fuel that fed Anorexia (no pun intended)."

- Mom's message from Heaven about Anorexia "I am sorry, but I am hopeful" by: One Rebel Mother
Looking from above, it is difficult to see why families do not band together to help sufferers and each other in more constructive ways. I see that my other granddaughter is angry with you and is unwilling to try to understand the disease and support you. I see my grandson cry at night worrying about his little sis, "Kid", and his mother. Knowing that he would not be able to take on the battle that you have if something were to happen to you by giving his sister the support, taking on the stress, and the finances He fears you do not take care of yourself and that someday he will burying you and my granddaughter at nearly the same time if something positive doesn't happen soon. Like many others, my grandson suffers from a lot of guilt…
